Chips Computing Services has won the Best Achiever Award for Sage Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) X3, barely a year after the product was launched in Zimbabwe.

Chips Computing Services, which holds the Sage Pastel franchise in Zimbabwe and is the official distributor of Sage and Pastel products, won the award, which is based on sales, ahead of many other participants from across the world, including South Africa and Australia.

Sage ERP X3 was launched in Zimbabwe in June last year. Although then new to Zimbabwe it was already being used in many other countries, some of which were competing against Chips for the Best Achiever Award.

Sage ERP X3 is a web-based system that is aimed at meeting the most elaborate business processes, while remaining cost-effective, quick to implement and simple to use.

It is a real time system and fully web-compatible. Although designed as a web-based system it operates well with or without the use of the worldwide web.

It allows one to organise internal processes as well as control information exchanged between external partners, including customers, suppliers and subcontractors.

“Sage ERP X3 increases business insight, optimises business processes, streamlines operations, controls financial risks, boosts sales, grows a business, enhances collaboration and reduces costs,” explained Chips Sage Division managing director Charles Kuyayama.

The system optimises purchasing and replacement processes and is good for after-sales customer care. It integrates all the enterprise's information and business processes within one single software system and database, allowing users to have an extensive view of their activity in real time, no matter where data has been created or stored.

It manages finance, sales, inventory, customer resource management (CRM), purchasing and manufacturing operations globally and streamlines all of the enterprise's processes.

In addition to manufacturing, distribution and accounting functions, Sage ERP X3 offers a set of core enterprise-wide features that help transform a business into a real-time, on demand organisation, responsive to the needs of customers.

“Essentially Sage ERP X3 was designed to grow with your business,” he said.

“It has overcome the difficulties that users find with many other software packages. It makes your enterprise more flexible in every respect and lets you respond faster to new business trends and processes.

“This enables your employees and partners to successfully adapt to changes in today’s markets,” Mr Kuyayama said.
