9 June Sage 1000 Effective IT Awards

Sage 1000, an integrated business management software suite in use in many countries, including Zimbabwe, has been short-listed for an award in this year’s Effective IT Awards, organised by Information Age magazine in the United Kingdom

Information Age is widely read by senior Information Technology (IT) decision makers in the United Kingdom. The awards, which the magazine organises each year, celebrate IT strategies that demonstrate how technology provides real business value.

Scientific and Chemical Supplies has been selected in the award finals in the Most Effective Use of Information category, for its implementation of Sage 1000 by Sage business partner CPIO.

The Sage software used by Scientific and Chemical Supplies is competing against software being used by Barclays Bank and advertising agency Lowe & Partners.

More than 400 entries have been received this year. The calibre of entrants has, according to the organisers, been particularly high this year. The finals take place on June 28.

Sage 1000 is a powerful application that seamlessly unifies information from finance, distribution, manufacturing and service operations.

It creates a comprehensive management system that embraces all aspects of business, from prospecting for new customers and taking orders to shop-floor production, warehouse management and after sales service.

Sage 1000 was introduced to Zimbabwe, where Sage has for some years been a popular accounting and business management software brand name, earlier this year.

Sage, a London-based international business and accounting software company, is represented in Zimbabwe by Chips Computing Services, which installs Sage programmes and provides the training and support needed.

Sage Line 500 is currently the most popular Sage package in Zimbabwe. More than 100 companies in Zimbabwe, about 20 of which are publicly listed companies, use Sage Line 500.

Sage 1000 provides a complete business management solution, minimises the cost of deployment and ownership and is easy to customise, according to the General Manager of Chips Sage Division, Mr Charles Kuyayama.

“Simply put, Sage 1000 is a complete solution from a single vendor. It puts the key management information at your fingertips,” he said.

Components of Sage 1000 include Business Information Reporting and Dashboards, Accounting, Finance and Payroll, Supply Chain, Distribution and Manufacturing, Project Management,  Sales Management, Customer Management, Marketing Management, Web Access and Self Serve.
